Dillons Shopping Trip 12-3

Alot of Kellogs and Keebler items were 50% off today only. So luckily I was able to get some great coupons online. Here is what I got:

• CheezIts - $1.44/each with coupons ($0.44/each)
• Nutri Grain Bars - $1.74/each with coupons ($0.74/each)
• Special K Bars - $1.64/each with coupons ($0.64/each)
• Keebler cookies - $1.37/each used $1/2 coupons ($0.87/each)

Target Price Match Toys R Us

Toys R Us came out with their two day ad for Friday and Saturday. They had these Leapfrog Caterpillars for $10.49. If you take their ad to Target to the Customer Service Desk they will price match these and use the Target coupon for $10 off and get these for $0.49/each. I was able to get the last 2 at my local Target, two christmas prestents down for less than $1!!!!

I went to Target tonight to get the Baby Wipes deal but of course they were all out. But I did see that they had Coffee-Mate on sale for $1.50 and some were even marked down to $1.16, so with the $1/1 coupon at coupons.com you can get some inexpensive creamer.

Baking Days

I started my baking Saturday morning with one batch of strawberry waffles and one batch of chocolate chip waffles.

I then made a double batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and finished off with a pan of lasagna and two pans of ziti.

Monday night I was able to make 14 egg, ham, & cheese breakfast burritos and a homemade pumpkin pie.

Tonight I made two pans of turkey, broccoli, rice, & cheese casserole (1 for dinner and 1 to freeze). I substituted turkey for chicken because we were able to get 2 turkeys at Wal-mart for $0.40/lb.

Homemade Pumpkin Puree

So I decided to make my own pumpkin puree Sunday. I was getting worried that I wouldn't be able to find any in the stores with the shortage and why let the pumpkins go to waste? So it wasn't as hard as I thought. We cut up our big (22lb) pumpkin into smaller pieces and laid them face down on a baking sheet and baked them at 350 degrees for 1.5 hours, I also had a smaller pumpkin. After they cooled the skin peeled right off and then into the food processor until it was smooth. Then I put 2 cups into each sandwich baggy and froze them. I'm excited to use them in my recipes and see how they turn out. I'm planning on making a double batch of pumpkin chocolate chip muffins this weekend!

Weekend Baking

So I set out to bake all day Saturday. I did get most of it done, but I just couldn't stand in the kitchen anymore. So here is what I (with some help from my wonderful husband) accomplished this weekend. I like to use recipes as the base and then add or take away what I like and dislike, so I tweeked a few of these to fit our family.

• Double batch (approx 60) of Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins (some of these were mini's for my little one)

• 1 Pan of Lasagna



• A batch of Waffles (I added some dried cherries and flax seed to mine and I used regular white flour, which is all I had on hand)
  
  



• Double batch of Chicken Tetrazzini (added some mushrooms to this)





• 2 Pans of Chicken Enchiladas

• Double batch of Cheeseburger Soup (this is the best recipe out there!) (I used green peppers and banana peppers from our garden and then added the rest of the mushrooms instead of celery)
  


• We also made a batch of Halloween sugar cookies.

Kohl's is having great sales right now, 60-90% off. Also, if you have a Kohl's charge you have a chance of get an extra 15%, 20%, or 30% off. I was lucky enough to get the 30% so I went last night to get cleaner for my Spot Bot and ended up finding some unexpected deals.

Dillons Trip

Right now Dillons is having 50% off Lysol products, so I figured with flu season knocking we should stock up. I had coupons for everything so it was $1.00 off each sale price and I used a $4.00 coupon for the Neutra Air refill ($2.99). I got all of this for $5.15 with coupons.

Go here to print $2/1 coupons for frozen entrees and the fresh mixers. You should be able to print these twice. Wal-mart usually has these around this price so you should be able to get them free or close to free. Hurry before they run out!

So I was finally able to round up some coupons to make a trip to K-Mart on Friday. I forgot to take a picture (we got home late Friday).

I think I have just about wiped out all my local Walgreens' of their Huggies Wipes. The coupon in the Back 2 School flyer is only good until August 29th. I snagged these for $0.79/each.
